There are not less that four version... |
The
unbelievable and surrealist soundtrack has, without doubt, helped
the film "Bladerunner" to become one of the most innovative films
in the history of cinema. The first version was made in 1982, it's
an orchestral adaptation by the New American Orchestra of the motion
picture music.
In July of 1994 was commercialized for the first time the official
version created by Vangelis with various music from the film and some
unpublished pieces.
But the most interesting release is the bootleg
version, selling a limited edition of only 2000 copies at Christmas
1993, which included a book of 8 pages of photos from the film.
This version is currently very difficult to find like the version
commercialized in 1995 under the label Gongo Music
produced in Romania.
This version has been created the satisfy the impassioned who have
not succeeded in getting the Christmas 1993 bootleg version, it is
in fact a copy almost faithful to the original, except for some music
changes.
The
original soundtrack of the film was released by Vangelis in 1994.
The album contains also a comment by the same Vangelis that reads:
"Most of the music contained in this album originates from recordings
I made in London in 1982, whilst working on the score for the film
BLADE RUNNER. Finding myself unable to release these recordings at
the time, it is with great pleasure that I am able to do so now. Some
of the pieces contained will be know to you from the Original Soundtrack
of the film, whilst others are appearing here for the first time.
Looking back at RIDLEY SCOTT'S powerful and evocative pictures left
me as stimulated as before, and made the recompiling of this music,
today, an enjoyable experience."
